About
Urban Cricket Guide is for readers who want to follow cricket with a clearer sense of what is happening and why. We unpack the rules, tactics, formats, equipment and playing spaces that shape the game, without assuming specialist knowledge.
A game with several moving parts
A delivery can matter in more than one way: it may change the score, use time, test a batter’s judgement or alter a captain’s plan. Our coverage connects these parts so that readers can see how small decisions add up across an innings and a match.
For curious followers
The site is for newcomers, occasional viewers and long-time followers who want a straightforward explanation of a cricket idea. We define terms when they first matter, distinguish one format from another and use familiar examples without turning every article into a rulebook.
Useful understanding, not predictions
We focus on how cricket works and how to read what unfolds. We do not promise forecasts, tell readers what to bet on or present any single tactical choice as a guaranteed route to success.
A match is a chain of choices.
Cricket becomes easier to follow when you know what each decision changes. We explain the terms and structures that turn a series of deliveries into a contest with shape.
